Is CBD Vape Oil Safe to Use?

Ever since people have started taking interest in CBD and its health benefits, it’s become a better and more reliable alternative to smoking weed. But for newcomers to the vaping scene; it’s even more interesting. Since, according to vapers, it’s a lot better to vape than to smoke.

Combine that “good-side” of vaping with CBD vape oil, it’s becoming a new trend to enjoy a tranquillising, textury smoke going in your lungs, and filling it with lots of “good stuff”.

Since you’re here, it means that you’re new to vaping and are wondering if it’s a good idea to buy or switch to CBD vape oil instead of using traditional vape oil.

Researching before purchasing. Hmm.. quite a smart move!

Here, in this article, we discuss all there is that you need to know about CBD vape oil before you start stacking it up for your vaping voyage.

So, without further ado; let’s get started:

Is CBD Oil and CBD Vape Oil Any Different?

In short, yes. Quite different.

If you’re already familiar with CBD, you probably already know about CBD oil tinctures, which are designed to be consumed directly from under your tongue (usually one or two drops).

They are created using hemp oil and are mixed with a carrier oil such as sunflower oil, hemp seed oil, coconut oil or even MCT oil. Some CBD oil tinctures have flavourings in it, which adds a delightful aroma and taste into it ‒ making it less “hempy” and more flavorful to the tongue.

However, since CBD oil tinctures are designed to be taken under your tongue, they don’t work very well with vapers. In fact, using CBD oil tinctures can damage or destroy your vaping gear.

In other words, using CBD oil tinctures is a BIG NO for vaping.

This is why, you should always look for products that contain these labels:

  • CBD E-Liquid
  • CBD Vape-Oil
  • CBD Vape Juice

However, once you find a product with the labels mentioned above, you will realise that they come in two variants: PG and VG. Let’s discuss more about what these are:

What Are These ‘PG’ and ‘VG’ Variants?

In most CBD vape oil, you will find PG or/and VG labelling in its nutritional facts sheet. Both (PG and VG) are a commonly used carrier liquids that are specifically designed for vaping gear. Both of these stand for Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG) respectively.

Don’t worry. PG and VG are not toxic to your health. FDA considers both of them safe for food. In fact, you may find them in prepared foods that are lounging in your fridge right now.

Now, the question is: should you go for PG vape oil or VG vape oil?

Like any other decision, it depends on your preference.

If you’re someone who’s been an advent smoker in the past and wish to get that ‘throat hit’ feel from vaping then PG is a better option. It’s thinner than VG and builds less gunk, which keeps your vape gear a lot cleaner. This means the gear will also last much longer than its counterpart.

However, if you’re into creating denser, artisan vape clouds that stay in the air for a long time, you might like to go VG style. It’s thicker than PG and has fewer chances of giving you an allergic reaction. But, since it’s a thick liquid; VG can clog up your gear, which affects vaping gear’s life.

It can also make you feel congested if you’re very new to vaping or were using PG vape oil.

We recommend you to play around a little bit with both of these variants, to find out which works best for you. Some vapers use both of them, in a specified ratio to get the benefit of both worlds.

Again, it depends what you’re looking to experience from CBD vaping.

Now, this is what we get asked a lot:

Will I Get High From CBD Vape Oil?

And, our answer is always this: not at all!

Unlike cannabis, CBD oil doesn’t contain high amounts of THC, which is the leading cause of euphoria i.e. getting you high. Most CBD products contain less than 0.3% of THC.

This is because any more than that makes the product illegal and unsafe to consume. Nobody likes consuming illegal products now, do they? Unless of course, you’re a junkie. Ehem.

Jokes aside, CBD vape oil will give you a sense of relaxation. Inhaling it will also take away any painful (physical and psychological) symptoms that you might be experiencing before.

Like with any CBD product, the effects of CBD vape oil vary. For some people, it is the fastest and most effective method to experience CBD health benefits. For others, it’s quite the opposite.

Again, it depends how your body reacts to vaping CBD (vape-based) oil.

Now, let’s move on to the real question:

Is Vaping CBD Bad For Your Health?

Vaping, itself, is a new and innovative alternative to smoking. Although it is considered “safer” than smoking cigarette ‒ medical experts still go silent about its health risks. They need more research to back up its “health benefits” or any side-effects that we need to be aware of.

In our opinion, anything ‘unknown’ should be considered unsafe to use/consume. But, if you are confident that the health benefits of vaping CBD outweigh its side-effects, give it a try!

Since CBD is actually very good for you, especially if you are facing depression, anxiety, insomnia or muscle spasms; going for a CBD vape oil might be exactly what you need.

However, to play it safe; we highly recommend you opt for quality products from a trusted manufacturer or distributor unless you’re willing to spend your time researching CBD vaping oils.

Although quality products tend to be a bit expensive, they come with less anxiety of potential health hazards found in cheaper alternatives that have never been tested by the authorities.

Final Verdict

Vaping is a new tech. Combine that with CBD, a newly discovered substance, you’re stepping your foot in an uncharted territory that’s not entirely mapped yet. We still don’t know much about the health effects that vaping causes on human body ‒ especially on a long-term scale. So, it’s a better idea to do some homework before inhaling CBD vape oil with your shiny vape tech.

But, if you believe that with big risks, come big rewards; then go for it and share your experience with us. We like reading to the feedback of our readers more than anything ‒ except coffee tho’.
